| | | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | According to Florida Statute the City of Riviera Beach (City) is required to bargain the wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment with the employee-selected collective bargaining agent. The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) is the collective bargaining agent for the City’s General Employees.
From March 11, 2021 through August 5, 202, SEIU and the City negotiated to replace the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that expired on March 31, 2021. The City and the SEIU successfully negotiated a three-year CBA. The CBA term begins April 1, 2021 and expires March 31, 2024. On Tuesday, August 31, 2021, SEIU’s membership ratified the three-year CBA with a vote of 65 members in favor of the CBA and 50 members against it. According to Florida Statute, any agreement signed by the City Manager and SEIU shall not be binding until such agreement has been ratified by the City Council. |
