Approve closure of North Ocean Avenue Oct 1 from noon until noon October 2, 2021 for Palm Beach Triathlon and Oct 23 from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. for Wodamania CrossFit competition.

Background/Summary: 

Staff requests permission to temporarily close North Ocean Avenue for the Palm Beach Triathlon and Wodamania Cross Fit Competition. Both events will provide the City with positive economic impact via heads in beds and other leisure spending.

The first scheduled event, “Triathlon” requires closures to take place on Friday, October 1, 2021 at noon until Saturday, October 2, 2021 at noon. The closure is needed for event set up, transitions and start and finish activities.  

Staff is also requesting the closure of North Ocean Avenue for a second event, “Wodamania CrossFit Competition” which is scheduled to occur on Saturday, October 23, 2021 beginning at 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.  This closure is needed to effectuate an appropriate venue for event attendees as well as assuring that Ocean Mall businesses do not experience interruption.
