The City’s annual submission of an application to Palm Beach County Department of Economic Sustainability for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for FY 2019-2020 for the reconstruction of 26th Ct from Avenue M to W. 27th Street; which is identified in the Northwest Neighborhood Strategy Area has been granted. Palm Beach County has approved the application and is providing grant funding in the amount of $166,375 for the aforementioned project.
In 2019 City Staff made application to the Palm Beach County Department of Economic Sustainability for reconstruction of 26th Court from Avenue M to 27th Street. Under Resolution No. 94-19, the City Council approved execution of the required Inter-local Agreement with Palm Beach County for receipt of $166,375 in CDBG grant funding. In accordance with the Palm Beach County Agreement, this project must be awarded by March 2020 and construction commence in April 2020.
The project was awarded to Rosso Site Development in Resolution 17-20 and initiated construction in April 2020. Due to startup delays, contractor inefficiencies and other logistical challenges final payment was not distributed until October 2020. The request for final reimbursement was not submitted within the contract timeline thus the County has requested a contract time extension to facilitate closure of the project.
