| | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | The continuing services contract for design, permitting, construction and installation of modular structures in accordance with RTQ 1008-20-4 was approved by Resolution 114-20 allowing the City to move forward with redevelopment and related construction projects necessary to develop, enhance and maintain the integrity of City facilities. City Staff developed a scope of work including building dimensions, parking demand, and driveway locations to facilitate pricing by Advanced Modular Structures pricing.
Following the initial design for the facilities, staff took an intense look into the specifics of the proposed apparatus covering proposed by Advanced Modular. The arched frame with PVC cover proposed to protect the fire apparatus from elements was deemed unsatisfactory and insufficient during a storm event. Advanced Modular provided an alternative apparatus cover made of metal and an enhanced foundation. The enhanced apparatus bay will increase the project cost by $190,000. |
