| | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | THE AGENCY HAS INSTALLED NINE MURALS WITHIN THE CRA DISTRICT: SIX ON SINGER ISLAND, ONE WELL RECOGNIZED MURAL AT THE MAIN THROUGHFARE OF OUR CITY, AND TWO AWARD-WINNING MURALS AT OUR MARINA VILLAGE. THE APPROVED BUDGET FOR FY2020-2021 INCLUDED $165,000 FOR THE PUBLIC ART AND BRANDING PROJECT ROUND III. IN NOVEMBER 2020, THE BOARD APPROVED RFP 2020-03 TO BE PUBLISHED FOR SOLISITATION OF ARTIST TO PARTICIPATE IN ROUND III OF THE AGENCY'S PUBLIC ART AND BRANDING PROJECT. THE AGENCY RECEIVED SUBMISSIONS FROM TWO RESPONDENTS, STREET ART REVOLUTION LLC AND FONDOS STUDIOS, LLC. THE EVALUATION TEAM CONSISTED OF RICHARD BLANENSHIP, DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION, TARI BOLDEN, BB&T BANK MANAGER, SCOTT EVANS, CRA PLANNING AND DIRECTOR, AND ANDRE LEWIS, CRA SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER. THE TEAM SCORED AND RANKED THE DESIGNS FROM THE TWO SUBMITTERS FONDOS STUDIO LLC (DBA MURALS BY GEORGETA) AND STREET ART REVOLUTION LLC. THE BOARD APPOINTED MEMBER DR. JULIA BOTEL, PROVIDED KEEN OVERSIGHT AND DIRECTION DURING THE PROCESS. |
