THE AGENCY IS REQUESTING THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH CHRIS WAYNE AND ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR THE INSTALLATION OF LANDSCAPING, LIGHTING, AND IRRIGATION FOR THE CRA OWNED PROPERTY AT 2600 BROADWAY. THE EXISTING BUILDING IS SLATED FOR DEMOLITION AND AS THE PHYSICAL LOCATION OF THE PROPERTY IS AT THE MAIN THROUGHFARE OF THE CITY, THE NEED FOR LUSH AND ATTRACTIVE LANDSCAPING IS CRITICAL TO ATTRACTING FUTURE DEVELOPMENT TO THE CORRIDOR, AND ESTABLISHING AN IMPROVED LOOK FOR THE AREA. THE LANDSCAPE PACKAGE IS DESIGNED BASED ON A SIMILAR LAYOUT COMPLETED SEVERAL YEARS AGO ON THE OPPOSITE CORNER WHICH IS ALSO OWNED BY THE CRA. THE PLANS INCLUDE A SPACE FOR A SIMILAR FUTURE DEVELOPMENT SIGN.

 


Recommendation/Motion: 

STAFF RECOMMENDS ADOPTION OF THE RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH CHRIS WAYNE AND ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE PROPOSED LANDSCAPING PACKAGE FOR 2600 BROADWAY. THE PROJECT WILL PROVIDE BEAUTIFICATION OF THE LOT FOLLOWING DEMOLITION OF THE EXISTING BUILDING, IN ADVANCE OF REDEVELOPMENT OF THE SITE. THE TOTAL PROJECT EXPENSE INCLUDING CONTINGENCY WILL NOT EXCEED $96,501. THE PROJECT WILL BE FUNDED OUT OF THE BOARD APPROVED CAPITAL PROJECTS BUDGET FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE 2600 BROADWAY CRA PROPERTY.

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RIVIERA BEACH PROCUREMENT POLICIES, THE RBCRA ISSUED ITB 2021-01 TO OBTAIN PRICING PROPOSALS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A LANDSCAPING, IRRIGATION AND ELECTRICAL PACKAGE TO 2600 BROADWAY. THE BID WAS PUBLISHED IN THE PALM BEACH POST, DEMAND STAR AND THE CRA'S WEBSITE. THE CRA RECEIVED THREE BIDS AND CHRIS WAYNE AND ASSOCIATES WAS DEEMED THE LOWEST AND MOST RESPONSIVE BIDDER.
