| | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | At the October 21, 2020 Regular City Council Meeting, the City Council approved to move forward with the Water Tank Art Project and approved for a budget of $25,000. After further discussions with City Staff and the selected artist for the project, additional costs were brought forth, bringing the new total to complete the project to $35,000. The additional costs is a result of adding an additional female figure to the existing mural design, so that the result of the mural reflects two men and two women. As the project embraces those who have lead the way to equality for all Americans throughout the nation, it is appropriate that both men and women are equally represented. Otherwise with the current design for the art project, there would be two men and one woman represented on the mural. The other factor for the raise in the budget is due to the need of the artist to provide the additional services to prepare the surface of the mural since the current condition of the water tank will interfere with the ability to meet the expectations of the project. |
