The purpose of this memorandum is to seek the Utility Special District Board’s authorization to proceed with the public art mural of African-Americans that have made a lasting impact on American society though various facets of life, to include but not limited to: civil rights, social justice, entertainment, sports, and music. The mural will provide the community with a public art piece that can enhance the cultural art experience for residents, businesses and visitors alike. The mural will commemorate the life and legacy of exceptional trailblazers whose imprint on society will be forever ingrained and celebrated in the City of Riviera Beach.
At the October 21, 2020 Regular City Council Meeting, the City Council approved the project, as it would be the funding source for it. Therefore, it also appropriate to request the approval of this project by the Board, as the water tank is the property of the Utility Special District.
