Background/Summary: 

Since 2010, the City has operated under the current Street Naming Policy, approved by Resolution No. 168-10.  Although this policy is generally in line with current practices among our peer cities and the County, the proposed amendments add additional specificity related to fees, implementation costs, and the application process for the naming and renaming of streets.

 

Further, the City has never adopted a policy guiding the naming or renaming of municipal real property e.g., buildings, community spaces, amenities, etc. This proposed amendment will expand the policy to include a specific process for naming or renaming the City’s real and tangible properties.
