Staff recommends approval to execute the First Amendment to Tower Lease Agreement with T-Mobile to allow the installation of a Back-Up Generator on the Public Safety Communication Tower.

Background/Summary: 

The City of Riviera Beach owns and maintains a 180-foot Communication Tower located at 600 West Blue Heron Boulevard, Riviera Beach, Florida, to support Police Department Public Safety Communications Operations.  The City entered into a Site Lease Agreement with T-Mobile South LLC on March 16, 2016, to lease excess space on the existing Public Safety Communication Tower. Said lease ends December 31, 2029.  

T-Mobile has submitted this First Amendment to Tower Lease Agreement to allow for the installation of a Back-Up Generator.  Upon the approval of the Amendment, the City agrees to provide 40 square feet of ground space for the generator.  T-Mobile will file all required Building Permits with the City prior to commencing any work.

There is no conflict with any existing City Policy in this Agenda Item.
