On March 21, 2018, the City Council approved a five-year lease (commencing midnight March 21, 2018, and expiring midnight March 20, 2023) between the City of Rivera Beach and Alpha Educational Foundation – DDL, Inc., a Florida not-for-profit corporation and 501 (c) 3 organization of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. A copy of the lease, including exhibits, is attached as Composite Exhibit 1.

At the requests of Councilpersons Lanier and McCoy, this matter is being presented to address concerns raised by the Councilpersons and for a discussion by the City Council.  Please find attached Exhibit 2, which charts out the questions/concerns raised by Councilpersons Lanier and McCoy, and the relevant City staff’s responses to the questions/concerns.

The President of the Alpha Educational Foundation – DDL, Inc., Mr. Alfred Fields, and the President of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., George Lockhart, were informed of and invited to tonight’s meeting, to address any concerns of the City Council.
