The Utility Special District performed a high-level condition assessment of all its lift stations in 2012 and a condition score was developed to rate each station. This information was summarized and included in its 2013 Water and Wastewater Master Plan.
Except for stations which were rehabilitated recently, in general the inventory of lift stations are in moderate to poor condition and require either rehabilitation or replacement due to age and deterioration. More specifically, the District has fourteen (14) lift stations that are in a critical state and require immediate attention.
Palm Beach County posted an Invitation to Bid, to wit, WUD Project Number 20-009R, hereinafter the “Bid” for Lift Station Rehabilitation Continuing Construction.
The Hinterland Group was the successful responsible bidder; and the RFP allowed for and encouraged the successful bidder to extend such terms and conditions to other governmental agencies. The Hinterland Group, which is a local business located at 2051 W. Blue Heron Blvd., desires to extend such to the District.
Over the past 2 months, the Board approved of EAC to provide lift station conditioning assessments. Having a contract in place with the Hinterland Group will enable the District to move forward efficiently once the assessments are complete.
