The City has been working diligently to fill critical positions across the agency, to include that of the Multimedia Communications Specialist to assist in the City’s communication operations. That operation is currently understaffed and with the growing need for communication services during this state of emergency it is vital that a qualified individual is hired to meet the needs.
The position is primarily responsible for assisting the Multimedia/RBTV Station Manager, Walter Stephens, with producing and publishing information through various communication platforms. In particular the position will provide needed support for video production.
Through the application and selection process, staff selected Michael Hudson as the best fit and most qualified to fill the role. Due to an existing settlement from his past employment with the City, the Council must approve the rehire of Mr. Hudson in order for staff to proceed. In addition, because the former council approved the previous settlement agreement that included a no-hire provision, any amendments to the settlement agreement must come from the council. Changing Mr. Hudson’s re-hire status to eligible for re-hire is an amendment to the agreement.
