The Library Advisory Board acts as a liaison between the community and the City’s government for the purposes of:
- Serving in an advisory capacity and providing recommendations through the library director to the city manager and the city council for overall improvements within the library.
- Keeping itself informed of library needs and serving as a forum for discussion, as well as to encourage maximum use of library programs and services.
- Recommending programs and policies for the efficient operation of the library and advocating for the construction of a new library.
The Library Advisory Board (Board) consists of five (5) regular members and two (2) alternate members. Board members are required to be registered voters, reside in the City of Riviera Beach, serve a one-year term, and attend monthly meetings that are held the second Tuesday of each month. Board members may be reappointed after their first year of service, for as long as they wish to serve, per City Council’s approval.
Currently, the Riviera Beach Library Advisory Board is comprised of five (5) regular members and two (2) alternate members. The one-year term for Mrs. Marybeth Coffer, a regular member of District 2 currently serving on the Library Advisory Board, expired in July 2020.
