The City of Riviera Beach is currently preparing for Hurricane Season 2020, which occurs from June 1 through November 30.
City staff will be utilizing the temporary Public Works facility as the City's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in the event of a Hurricane or other natural disaster, which may require staff to remain on-site for extended periods of 24 hours or more. City staff, Police, and Fire Personnel are also housed at other City facilities.
In order to ensure the safety of City Staff assigned to the EOC or other facilities during such major weather events, staff recommends various enhancements to the facilities. Accordingly, staff requests to appropriate fund balance in the Major Disaster Fund account.
There is no conflict with any existing City Policy in this Agenda Item.
