The recently formed Audit Selection Committee presently consists of three (3) members and a delegate from the City Council. At this time, Madelene Irving, a long-time resident of the City, has submitted an application for consideration to serve on the Audit Committee. Accordingly, Council Chairperson KaShamba Miller-Anderson is recommending Ms. Irving for consideration as an additional member.
Audit Selection Committee members serve in a voluntary capacity and participate in scheduled meetings as necessary, to conduct the business of the agencies. The Audit Committee is primarily tasked to establish a qualified and effective process that serves to attain the professional services of an experienced independent certified public accounting firm to perform financial and compliance auditing services on behalf of the City of Riviera Beach, the Utility Special District and the Community Redevelopment Agency.
Further, this Committee will also serve to review reports drafted by the City’s Internal Auditor. In concert, it will provide administrative and operational comments as well as proffer recommendations to the Internal Auditor and the Council.
