The City of Riviera Beach seeks to execute the Amended and Restated Interlocal Agreement to provide direct access to Palm Beach County's Public Safety Radio System.

Recommendation/Motion: Staff recommends approval of the Resolution authorizing the execution of the Amended and Restated Inter-local Agreement.

Background/Summary: 

Public safety radios are mission critical to police operations and the safety of the citizens of Riviera Beach.  Palm Beach County (County) is responsible for the administration of the Public Safety Radio System (radio system) for the entire County.  As such, the County requires agencies to execute an Inter-local Agreement in order to properly document access to the radio system and to establish payment authorization for associated fees for respective services.  

 

Accordingly, on May 21, 2013, the City of Riviera Beach entered into Inter-local Agreement F2013-0611 with the County.  By utilizing this particular radio system, the City benefits from a more effective yet less costly radio service. 

 

There is no conflict with any existing City Policy in this Agenda Item.
