Staff recommends that the City Council authorizes the City Manager to enter into negotiations with respective parties to effectuate the actions necessary to conduct a professional polo event to be held on the municipal beach.

Background/Summary: 

At its workshop held on the Saturday, December 14, 2019, the City Council agreed to discuss the particulars regarding the planning and organizing of a polo event to be held on the municipal beach on Singer Island.  

 

This beach polo event would involve relationships with external vendors and include a partnership wth the City itself.  This latter partnership would provide for in-kind public safety services in an effort to assure appropriate and adequate security systems. 

 

The findings realized as a result of negotiation activities, will be shared with the City Council upon completion.  It is anticipated that such negotiation activities will not exceed a budget of $20,000.
