Recommendation/Motion: 

Human Resources / Risk Management recommend that the City Council confirm the re-appointment of Mr. Kirk Henderson as Board Member to the serve on the Firemen’s Pension Trust Board for another term of four years through July 31, 2023.

Background/Summary: 

There currently exists a vacancy on the Firemen’s Pension Board of Trustees. The term of office is for four (4) years and the board member seat expired on July 30, 2019. 

The City placed advertisments for the vacancy, which included the City’s website and Facebook page; however, the City received no new applications. The current term expires on July 31, 2023.

Mr. Kirk Henderson expressed a desire to continue to serve as a member of the board. Attached is the copy of Mr. Henderson’s letter requesting another term on the pension board received on July 24, 2019, along with his resume and Advisory Board application.  He has met all the requirements for board certification.

The Firemen’s Pension Trust Board meets quarterly at 4:30 p.m. in the fire training room located near city hall. A copy of the duties and responsibilities and composition of the existing board members list is included with this package.
