| | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | The premise of this item is to increase the wages being proffered to both existing and incoming city employees. With national attention placed on providing a livable and sustainable wage, the City of Riviera Beach would like to adopt a compensation standard where no city employee, whether part-time or full-time, is compensated less than $15 per hour. This modification would impact 15 total positions that currently make less than $15 per hour. This modification in compensation will not adversely impact any collective bargaining positions the city currently has in place, but will ensure that all employees are compensated fairly and equitably for the hours worked and the skill sets required to deliver exceptional public service.
Furthermore, subsequent discussions will be had with the elected officials to review overall compensation strategies to ensure that the city still remains competitive and relevant with peer agencies as it relates to compensation and benefits. This will be a task for the incoming human resources director upon his or her arrival. |
