Staff recommends motion to approve the reappointment of two (2) regular members on the city's library advisory board.

Background/Summary: 

The Library Advisory Board consists of five (5) regular members and two (2) alternate members.  board members are required to be registered voters, reside in the city of Riviera Beach, serve a one-year term and attend monthly meetings that are held the second Wednesday of each month.  Board members can be reappointed after their first year of service, for as long as they wish to serve, per council's approval.

 

Staff is recommending the following two (2) regular members be reappointed:

  • Ms. Irene Jackson, District 2 - served since October 7, 2015
  • Mr. Delano Allen, District 3 - also served since October 7, 2015

 

 

Mrs. Lajuanda Williams, District 1, resigned from the library advisory board on November 5, 2019 due to personal obligations.  Mrs. Williams had served faithfully on the board since July 17, 2013. 

 

Letters of interest from Ms. Jackson and Mr. Allen, requesting to be reappointed, plus a letter of resignation from Mrs. Williams, are attached for your review.  upon council's approval of the two (2) requested reappointments, as well as Mrs. Williams' resignation, this board will have four (4) vacancies remaining; two (2) for regular members and two (2) for alternate members.
