| | | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | The City of Riviera Beach has been awarded a grant for $13,379.99, from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), U.S. Department of Justice under the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Act. The purpose of the Act is to protect the lives of law enforcement officers by helping states and units of local government equip their law enforcement officers with bulletproof vests.
The City's grant funds will be used to purchase new National Institute of Justice (NIF) compliant bulletproof vests for the City's police officers. The grant requires a 50% cash match, which will be expended from Operating Supplies Line Item Number 10120101-552000. The total project cost can be expended over a two-year grant period, ending August 31, 2021.
The Riviera Beach Police Department applied for this grant in April 2019, and received notification of the Grant Award in the amount of $13,379.99 on September 24, 2019. The Grant funds can be expended until August 31, 2021. The City's match of $13,379.99 will be provided from the general funds Operating Supplies line. |
