Background/Summary:

The FY 2017/2018 Adopted Budget the City Council approved a new position titled Chief Information Officer, which has not been filled since the position was created.  The position was advertised and a five panel committee was selected to review and narrow the applicants.  Twenty-one applicants were mailed an inventory assessment to further evaluate their experience and expertise in Information Technology.  The top five candidates from the assessment questionnaire were interviewed by former Fire Chief Reginald Duren, Interim Police Chief Michael Madden, Interim Public Works Director Terrence Bailey, Executive Director of Utilities Willie Horton, Interim IT Manager Justin Williams, and Palm Beach County IS Director Archie Satchel.  Lastly, the top two candidates were interviewed by the City Manager, resulting in the selection of Mr. Dunn.

Mr. Dunn is a proven IT leader with more than 10 years of experience delivering high-quality technology services in large, complex, and politically-challenging environments.  In addition to his BA and MA degrees, Mr. Dunn has his New York State Law License.  Mr. Dunn holds numerous certifications in statistical applications, programming language and software packages.

Mr. Dunn has agreed to seek residence in the City within one year of employment as stipulated by City Code of Ordinances Sec. 2-8.

The beginning salary for the Chief Information Officer is $98,978, the city manager has the authority to give up to a 10%, however Mr. Dunn has requested a 23% increase above the starting salary, which would put his starting pay at $122,000.
