| | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has for some time been asking the Utility Special District to make improvements to the M Canal crossing of the City’s only wastewater force main, which transports all City wastewater to the East Central Wastewater Treatment Facility in West Palm Beach; and the Utility Special District Water and Wastewater Master Plan in February 2013 assigned the M Canal crossing a high priority ranking on the District’s list of projects to address; and the force main crosses the M-Canal which is interconnected with the primary drinking water supply for the City of West Palm Beach.
The primary purpose of this project is to improve the integrity of the wastewater collection and transfer system; and in the interest of protecting the public health and safety, the Utility Special District has asked Holtz Consulting Engineers, Inc. to provide design and other engineering support services for the replacement of the M canal force main crossing. |
