Background/Summary: 

The term of office for the General Employees Pension Board member Mrs. Gladys Darville expires November, 2018.  The City Clerk's Office received two (2) Advisory Board Applications for appointment to the General Employees Pension Board.  Mrs. Darville has submitted a request for re-appointment to the board  to the Human Resources Department. 

 

Ms. Frazier and Mr. Vetter are both retired employees of the City.  Mr. Vetter previously served a three (3) year term on the pension board. Mrs. Darville has served on the board since November, 1994.  Mrs. Darville's attendance record from January 26, 2015 through October 22, 2018 which indicates seven (7) excused absences.  Mrs. Darville has met all requirements for certification and her certifications are current.

 

Therefore, staff is requesting that the Mayor with City Council approval, make the re-appointment of Mrs. Darville or appointment Ms. Frazier or Mr. Vetter to the General Employees Pension Board. 

 

The General Employees Pension Board meets monthly at 5:30 in the Human Resources Department  Conference Room.  A copy of the duties and responsibilities  and the composition of the existing board members list are attached.
