Rev. Griffin Davis, Sr. was born in Riviera Beach on West 30th Street, he lives on West 30th, and is the Founder and Pastor of Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church located in the great city of Riviera Beach.
Rev. Davis is a true community servant, his church has always gone outside of its four walls. As written in an article in the Palm Beach Post, Rev. Davis state that it was a mistake to tell people to go to church and serve God. Going to church is worshiping God. Serving God is helping other people.
Rev. Davis, became involved in city politics to correct local inequities. Although a majority of the city’s population was Black, there were no Blacks in the city administration. City services were not “fully” extended to the west side of Riviera Beach, until 1970 -1971.
Rev. Davis lives out the true meaning of his mission, “Fairness for All”.
Rev. Davis has demonstrated leadership and vision, which has made a positive impact here in our city.
Therefore, it is understandable why the conscious community would make this request to have this honor bestowed on Rev. Griffin Davis, Sr.
