BOARD APPOINTMENT – The Fire Pension Board is requesting City Council to confirm their re-appointment of fire pension board member Fire Captain Paul Wright to the fifth member seat on the Fire Pension Board.

Recommendation/Motion: That City Council as ministerial duty, confirm re-appointment of the fifth member to serve on the Fire Pension Board for a term of four (4) years.

Background/Summary: 

There currently exist an unexpired Fifth Member Seat on the Fire Pension Board.  The Fifth Member seat  expired on May 31, 2018. Attached is a letter received on August 21, 2018, from the pension administrator stating the Fire Pension Board re-appointed Fire Captain Paul Wright by a vote selection at their regular quarterly meeting held on Monday, May 21, 2018.  Therefore, it is requested that the City Council confirms re-appointment of Fire Captain Wright as the fifth member.  The term of office is for four (4) years, with an expiration date of May 31, 2022.  Also attached is Fire Captain Wright's resume to the pension board and Advisory Board Application.  He has  met all  requirements for his board certification. 

 

The Fire Pension Board meets quarterly at 4:30 p.m. in the Fire Training Room located near City Hall. A copy of the duties and responsibilities and composition of the existing board members list is included with this package.
