APPROVE THE RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CELEBRATION OF 50 YEARS OF HOME RULE THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF FLORIDA.

Background/Summary: 

Municipalities throughout the state of Florida has or is currently in the process of adopting a resolution celebrating 50 years of Home Rule within the State of Florida.

 

Adding this resolution to the agenda was done at the request of Councilperson Davis Johnson during the August 15, 2018 City Council Meeting.

 

Attempts are made yearly to dissolve this right on the state level.  If successful, residents must understand, open access to elected officials would become a passe'.
