| | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | At the regular City Council meeting on February 21, 2018, City Council approved the implementation of the comprehensive salary study as conducted by Management Advisory Group. The salary study committee used the more aggressive approached of using five (5) years for an employee to reach the mid-point (market) of a salary plan and ten years to reach maximum of a pay plan. However, 10 years to reach mid-point and 20 years to reach maximum of the pay plan was offered to the City's General Employees. In addition, the City's General Employees rejected their T'A labor agreement in May, 2018 which rejected the results of the salary study. As a result of the failure of the labor agreement, General Employees of SEIU Bargaining Unit have not received a rate increase.
As a result, at the work shop on Monday, July 9, 2018, City Council requested the rate increase for non-bargaining employees be frozen to their pre- April 1, 2018 rate until the General Employees of the SEIU Bargaining Unit agree upon a labor contract. |
