Background/Summary: 
During the May 5, 2017 meeting the City Council awarded a contract for the purpose of a citywide compensation and pay study to Management Advisory Group.  The purpose of the study was to develop a pay program that is fair, equitable, with both public and private employers in the surrounding geographic market area from which the city recruits, in order to attract, motivate and retain quality employees.  The services also included providing an implementation plan that included options for a phased in approach extending over a two year budget cycle, evaluating current job classifications, number of job classifications, including additions, deletions, and/or consolidations.  Analyze current job description format to be compliant with all applicable state and federal laws.  The designed job classification system should also provide for/support succession planning.
