The Parks and Recreation Department has submitted a $100,000 grant request to the Florida Dept. of State for funding from the Cultural Facilities Program for renovations and upgrades to the Dan Calloway Park Amphitheatre. Those upgrades would include redesign and hardening of the stage shelter, upgrade to the lighting and electrical system and minor upgrades to the terraced seating area.
The grant requires a match which will be accomplished through using other grant dollars and operating funds. There is a 3 year period to complete grant work.
Staff is requesting ratification of the application submittal as the deadline was June 1, 2018. The grant submittal can be pulled should the Council decide against ratification.
