| | | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | The Municipal Complex Electrical Upgrade has been scheduled for fiscal year 2017-18. The project involves the replacement of the main power disconnect switch for the Municipal Complex, installing new exterior main distribution panel, upgrading a 30 KVA transformer, per the design plans temporary power is required for Police, Fire, Communications and IT, this will consist of the following; connection to Panel HLP EP which is located in RM P142 off of the PD sally port, this panel is a 225 amp 277/480 “V” panel and is the (old) main emergency panel. It powers various sub panels in PD, library and city hall. This panel will power the essential systems for IT at city hall which are fed from panel HLP EM. Temporary power is required for panel HLP 1 AM which provides power for the IT area A\C’s, and is a 100 amp 277/480V panel. The project was advertised for bids on March 4, 2018. Three bidders submitted bids ranging from $97,500.00 to $258,430.00. The lowest bid was submitted by Brown Electrical Solutions, LLC based in Riviera Beach, Florida. The Purchasing Department has reviewed the bids and recommends award of bid to the lowest bidder, Brown Electrical Solutions, LLC in the amount of $97,500.00. Staff recommends that the City Council award the bid for the Municipal Complex Electrical Upgrade to Brown Electrical Solutions, LLC.
Based on the bid results, staff requests City Council approval of contracting with Brown Electrical Solutions, LLC. to provide construction services for the Municipal Complex Electrical Upgrade. |
