Staff recommends approval to enter into an Interlocal Agreement with Palm Beach County to provide comprehensive Radio Repair Services, including service for the City's radio consoles, as part of Palm Beach County's Master Service Agreement 


Originating Dept Police  Costs Five annual payments totaling $176.446.43 for console maintenance. Repairs for portable radios will be billed as needed per Attachment I of the Interlocal Agreement. The cost shall be determined based on the County's Master Service for services provided.

Background/Summary: 

The City seeks to enter into an Interlocal Agreement with Palm Beach County to continue to provide comprehensive Radio Repair Services, including service for the City's 195 radios and Radio Console, as part of Palm Beach County's Master Service Agreement.

 

The Radio Console is one of the most essential pieces of equipment in the Public Safety Communications Center and portable radios are mission critical and are the primary mode of communication for the officers in the field.  If a technical issue or system failure presents itself, the Police Department must have a Service Agreement in place to ensure the timely repair of the console and a process in place to provide continual repair and maintenance of portable radios.

 

The City currently operates 195 radios
