Approve staffs submittal of an application for $250,000.00 with a $25,000.00 match to the Florida Small Communities Energy Efficient Lighting Grant program for the retrofit of basketball and tennis court, parking lot and gym lighting.

Background/Summary:

The State of Florida has announced the funding of a Small Commuintes Energy Efficient Lighting Retrofit Program for 2018. The maximum award is $250,000.00 with a 10% match. Staff would like to submit an application for the retrofitting of basketball and tennis court, parking lot and Tates Gym lighting.

These areas were selected as the grant must exhibit the greatest reduction in energy usage and these amenities have the greatest number of hours of use.

If awarded the retrofit would include state of the art sports lighting as well as internet based timing systems that would allow staff to control usage more efficiently.
