Background/Summary: 

On May 21, 2013, the City of Riviera Beach entered in Interlocal Agreement F2013-0611 for permanent access to the Palm Beach County Public Safety Trunked Radio System.  The term of this Interlocal Agreement was five (5) years, and will expire on May 20, 2018.

 

The County requires the City to execute an Interlocal Agreement on a permanent basis in order to properly document the City's access to the Public Safety Radio System and to establish payment authorization for the fees due for the related services.  This First Amendment will extend the term of the Agreement through May 19, 2022, pursuant to the exercise of the first of two (2) four (4) year renewal options.

 

The City of Riviera Beach currently has 195 radios connected to the Palm Beach County Public Safety Trunked Radio System at an annual total cost of $118,865.28.  

 

The fees associated with the Direct Connect Interlocal Agreement have not changed since 2009, and the operational terms remain the same. 

 

The Palm Beach County Public Safety Trunked Radio System has proven to be a reliable system and was recently updated to a state-of-the-art P25 compliant Radio System.
