Recommendation/Motion: That City Council approve the Mayor's recommendation to re-appointment Ms. Hyacinthia Becton to serve on the General Employees Pension Board.

Background/Summary: 

The term of office for the General Employees Pension Board member Ms. Hyacinthia Becton expired November 2017. Staff is recommending City Council appoint  a new member or re-appoint Ms. Becton.

 

Attached is Ms. Becton’s attendance from January 2014 to present which indicates two (2) absences and one (1) excused absence. Ms. Becton has met all requirements for certification and the certification is current. Therefore, staff is requesting that the Mayor with  the City Council approval, make the re­appointment  of Ms. Becton to the General Employees Pension Board. Ms. Becton submitted  a request for re-appointment to the board.  Upon contacting the Mayor, he has agreed with the reappointment of Ms. Becton.

 

The General Employees Pension Board meets monthly at 5:30 p.m. in the Utility District Conference. A copy of the duties and responsibilities and composition of the existing board member list are included with this package.
