  • SEPTEMBER 2014 - THE RIVIERA BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY'S ADOPTED LONG-RANGE STRATEGIC PLAN 2014-2017 ADDRESSED THE CITIZENS' DESIRE FOR A NEW LIBRARY. 

 

  • MAY 2015 -  THE LIBRARY SUBMITTED A PUBLIC LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION GRANT APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF STATE'S DIVISION OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES.

 

  • JULY 2016 -  THE PUBLIC LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION GRANT AWARD LETTER WAS RECEIVED IN THE AMOUNT OF $500,000 WITH A GRANT COMPLETION DEADLINE OF JUNE 1, 2019.

 

  • AUGUST 2016 - THE CITY COUNCIL PASSED RESOLUTION #111-16 TO AWARD THE CONTRACT TO BEA ARCHITECTS TO PROVIDE CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A DESIGN CRITERIA PACKAGE TO BUILD A NEW LIBRARY. 

 

  • SEPTEMBER 2016 - THE URBAN LAND INSTITUTE (ULI) BEGAN A REVIEW TO PRESENT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CITY AND OTHER MUNICIPAL SERVICES BUILDINGS FOR RIVIERA BEACH. 

 

  • NOVEMBER 2016 - THE CITY COUNCIL ACCEPTED THE SITE B (FOR THE LIBRARY), ON AGENDA ITEM #16 FROM THE PRESENTATION MADE BY ULI.

 

  • DECEMBER 2016 - THE FIRST PUBLIC LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION GRANT PROGRESS REPORT WAS COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED TO THE DIVISION OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES. 

 

  • JANUARY 2017 - BEA ARCHITECTS' DESIGN REPORT WAS PRESENTED TO CITY COUNCIL. 

 

  • MAY 2017 - THE RIVIERA BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY'S 2017-2020 CAPITAL BUDGET PRESENTED THE PROPOSED BUDGET TO THE CITY COUNCIL.
