A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVIERA BEACH, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, ENDORSING FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT) PROJECT FM#438384-1, (AUSTRALIAN AVENUE, 1ST STREET TO BLUE HERON BOULEVARD) AND FM#436893-1-52-01 (CONGRESS AVENUE, NORTH OF 45TH STREET TO BLUE HERON BOULEVARD) FOR STREETLIGHT INSTALLATION AND ACCEPTING OBLIGATION FOR CONTINUED MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE STREETLIGHTS ONCE INSTALLED BY FDOT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Background/Summary: 

In 2014 the City of Riviera Beach made application through the Metropolitan Planning Organization for lighting improvements along Australian Avenue and Congress Avenue. The City of Riviera Beach desires for the Florida Department of Transportation to make improvements to Australian Avenue and Congress Avenue to accomplish the installation of streetlights. The projects will be constructed completely within right-of-way owned by Palm Beach County. After construction of the Projects the City of Riviera Beach agrees to appropriate such funds as may be necessary for the continued operation and maintenance of the streetlights.

 

 

Staff requests that City Council approve the resolution for the operation and maintenance of the streetlights on Australian Avenue and Congress Avenue.
