At the October 4, 2017 regular meeting staff made a presentation regarding the planned activities for the 2018 Dr Martin Luther King Jr activities. This is follow up information to questions posed at that meeting.
Ticket Price:
From Council discussion it was clear that the proposed price schedule was not acceptable and Council was not interested in expanding the capacity unless cost are fixed.. Therefore the Steering Committee reviewed expenses for all three events to determine a ticket price that will 1) cover the cost of the Gala and 2) provide revenues to subsidize the Senior Luncheon and Parade which have no or limited revenue potential.
The initial recommend ticket price was $225(premium) $150 (Regular)
The steering committee is now recommending a per ticket price of $100.00 per person. This price will cover Gala expenses, and provide additional revenues to assist with the cost of the Senior Luncheon and possibly the parade.
If Council is interested in lower ticket price than $100 that simply means that there will be less revenue to assist the other events if needed.
A $50 ticket price does not completely cover Gala expenses and provides no assistance.
A $60 ticket price does cover Gala expenses and provides no assistance
A $75 ticket price covers Gala expenses and provide minimal assistance
A $100 ticket price covers Gala expenses and additional revenue to assist the other 2 activities.
