Background/Summary: 

THE LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD SERVES IN AN ADVISORY CAPACITY AND PROVIDES RECOMMENDATIONS, THROUGH THE LIBRARY DIRECTOR, TO THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY COUNCIL.  THE BOARD ALSO RECOMMENDS PROGRAMS AND POLICIES FOR THE EFFICIENT OPERATION OF THE LIBRARY.

 

THE LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD CONSISTS OF FIVE (5) REGULAR MEMBERS AND TWO (2) ALTERNATE MEMBERS.  MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO BE REGISTERED VOTERS, RESIDE IN THE CITY OF RIVIERA BEACH, SERVE A ONE-YEAR TERM AND ATTEND MONTHLY MEETINGS THAT ARE HELD THE SECOND WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDS THE THREE (3) FOLLOWING REGULAR MEMBERS BE REAPPOINTED:

 

- MRS. LAJUANDA WILLIAMS (DISTRICT 1) - SERVED SINCE JULY 17, 2013

- MS. IRENE JACKSON (DISTRICT 2) - SERVED SINCE OCTOBER 7, 2015

- MR. DELANO ALLEN (DISTRICT 3) - SERVED SINCE OCTOBER 7, 2015

 

STAFF ALSO RECOMMENDS THE FOLLOWING ALTERNATE BOARD MEMBER BE APPOINTED AS WELL:

 

- MS. SHIRLEY LANIER - DISTRICT 3

 

MEMBERS' LETTERS REQUESTING TO BE REAPPOINTED, AS WELL AS MS. LANIER'S APPLICATION, RESUME AND LETTER OF INTEREST, ARE ATTACHED FOR YOUR REVIEW.  UPON APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE REAPPOINTMENTS / APPOINTMENT, ONE (1) VACANCY REMAINS FOR AN ALTERNATE MEMBER ON THE BOARD.
