A resolution awarding Bid No. 884-17-2 to All-Site Construction Inc. of Riviera Beach, Florida for the construction of the Riviera Beach Heights Community Center in an amount not to exceed $1,253,090; authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the Construction Services contract; authorizing the City Manager to approve change orders up to ten percent (10%); total contract value shall not exceed $1,378,399.00 without authorization by the City Council; and authorizing the Director of Finance and Administrative Services to make payment for same from account numbers 312-0203-572-0-6251 and 310-1123-537-0-6251.

Background/Summary: 

The Riviera Beach Heights Community Center (RBHCC) project was approved by City Council approximately two (2) years ago during City budget discussions. The purpose of the community center building was to provide for two things: 1.) a location on the south side of the City where various community groups could host events, and 2.) another location in which the Parks and Recreation Department could use in order to expand its program offerings. RBHCC will be located at the corner of Avenue G and West 4th Street. The Community Center was designed to mimic the size and capacity of the Lindsey Davis building which is an existing community center located on the north side of the City at Avenue R and West 28th Street.

 

At the request of Public Works, the City’s Purchasing Department issued Bid No. 884-17-2 and received three (3) responses from qualified contractors with All-Site Construction Inc. being the lowest responsive and responsible bidder at $1,253,090.

 

Staff recommends that City Council approve the contract with All-Site Construction Inc. for the construction of the Riviera Beach Heights Community Center.
