Background/Summary: 

Councilwoman Pardo is gearing up to host a Xeriscape seminar with the residents of Riviera Beach, on Thursday, July 20th at the Riviera Beach Marina Village Event Center, from 5:00 - 8:00pm.

 

Speakers from South Florida Water Management District, PBC Environmental Resource

Management and the C.R.A. Master Gardener will explain the following:

 

Xeriscape is quality landscaping that conserves water and protects the environment.

 

The term xeriscaping means water conserving, drought tolerant landscaping, or simply the use of the right plant in the right place - with proper maintenance and water-wise watering.

 

The seminar will provide the following information to residents:

• Designing landscape

• Selecting the right plant for the right area

• Have practical turf areas

• Water wisely

• Use mulches

• How to properly maintain landscape

 

The ultimate goal of the seminar is to provide residents with cost savings.
