Background/Summary:

City Councilwoman Dawn Pardo was awarded with the Home Rule Hero Award from the Palm Beach County League of Cities, Inc. at the Annual Installation Banquet. The award was presented to Ms. Pardo on Wednesday May 17, 2017 at 11:30 am at the Kravis Center.

Dawn S. Pardo represents District 4 (Singer Island) on the Riviera Beach City Council. She was elected to the council in March 2008. She served as Chairwoman of the Council in 2009, 2010 and 2015 through May 2016. She also served as Chair Pro Tem in 2008, 2012, 2013, and 2014.

Local government officials earned the prestigious Home Rule Hero Award for their tireless efforts to advance the League’s legislative agenda and to help protect the home rule powers of Florida’s cities. Home Rule is the ability ofa city to establish its own form of government and enact ordinances, codes, plans and resolutions without prior state approval.

Kudos to Councilwoman Pardo for her efforts!!!!
