Background/Summary: 

Rick and Lesley Stone have funded($25,000) the Richard Rellford and Kenny Anderson Basketball Academy going into its fourth year. This program has been conducted in association with the Parks and Recreation Department.

 

The Academy runs for 8 weeks in the summer, June 12, 2017- August 11, 2017. The program is free to middle and high school aged participants and includes instruction, academics and basketball games. Travel teams are accepted to fulfill the game schedule for an additional fee.

 

The funds are used to pay instructors, basketball officials, purchase shirts and pay for other academy related support supplies and services.

 

The resolution is required to accept the funds and appropriating to the Basketball Academy so that the donation can be expended. The funds are distributed through the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties.
