| | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | On September 26, 2016, the U.S. Department of Justice Assistance announced that $130,885 was allocated to the Riviera Beach Police Department through the DOJ FY 2016 Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program Grant.
The grant requires a cash match of $133,782, which establishes a total grant budget of $264,667. The matching funds were budgeted in the FY2017 5-year Capital Budget.
This grant will be used for the implementation of the Body-Worn Camera Program for the Riviera Beach Police Department. Body-Worn Cameras will be used to increase transparency of police encounters with the community, aid in successful prosecution of criminals and reduce citizen complaints. |
