The City is currently undertaking the construction of a new City Library. The estimated cost at this time is $10 million for a single story building and $13 million for multi-story. Community facilities such as libraries and museums commonly are able to receive public donations towards capital construction costs. The goal would be to generate donations equal to 25% of the total cost.
Purchasing issued RFP 757-16 on May 2, 2016. On June 21, 2016, an evaluation committee, consisting of the City of Riviera Beach Library Director, Cynthia Cobb; Director of Public Works, Brynt Johnson; Director of Finance & Administrative Services, Randy M. Sherman; Principal Planner, Community Development, DeAndrae Spradley,; and Buyer, Rickey Little convened to review and discuss the written responses to the RFP. Only one proposal was received. The written submittal was evaluated and ranked based on the criteria established in the City’s RFP.
After due consideration and performing the appropriate reference checks, Purchasing has made the recommendation to award a contract to Brakeley Briscoe, Inc. to provide Fundraising services.
