Cassandra Wooten commenced employment with the City of Riviera Beach on March 19, 1984 as Clerk Typist II in the Police Department. On June 6, 1988, Mrs. Wooten was promoted to Secretary I to the Parks and Recreation Department. Later on January 3, 1991, Mrs. Wooten transferred to then Personnel Department as a Secretary I. Due to her exemplary skills, Mrs. Wooten often assisted the City Manager’s Office while other clerical staffs members were on leave. On December 15, 1993, Mrs. Wooten was promoted to the position of Insurance Clerk in the Risk Management Division of the then Personnel Department. As a result of a salary study, Mrs. Wooten’s job title changed from Insurance Clerk to Insurance Technician. Mrs. Wooten entered the City’s DROP Plan on April 15, 2011 and retired from service on April 15, 2016. During her employment with the City, Mrs. Wooten also served as Police/Fire/General Secretary for the Civil Service Boards, assisted and filled in as Telephone Operator for the City when the City Clerk’s Office needed her, volunteered for MLK, Employee Picnic, Employee Holiday Party, Heart Walk etc. while employed by the City. Mrs. Wooten was interim Risk Manager from March, 2009 to November, 2009. Ms. Wooten served the citizens of Riviera Beach for 32 years.
She has two adult children and Mrs. Wooten will spend her time caring for her daughter and volunteering for her church.
