| | | | | | | | | Background/Summary: | West 18th to 22nd Street, between Avenue S and the Avenue R canal, has been scheduled for reconstruction for fiscal year 2015-16. The project consists of demolition of the roadway, installation of exfiltration trench for water quality treatment, construction of new asphalt, curb, gutter and installation of sidewalks. The project was advertised for bids on July 31, 2016. Two bidders submitted bids ranging from $714,645.45 to $774,064.00. The lowest bid was submitted by Rosso Site Developers, Inc. based in Lake Worth Florida. The Purchasing Department has reviewed the bids and recommends award of bid to the lowest bidder, Rosso Site Development, Inc. in the amount of $714,645.45. Staff recommends that the City Council award the bid for reconstruction of West 18th to 22nd Street, between Avenue S and the Avenue R canal to Rosso Site Development, Inc. The project is partially funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (Community Development Block Grant Funds) in the amount of $154,588.00, and the State of Florida (DEP) in the amount of $375,000.00. The balance of funding will be provided from the City’s share of tax on gasoline and the Utility District, for work related to water and sanitary sewer improvements.
Based on the bid results, staff requests City Council approval of contracting with Rosso Site Development, Inc. to provide construction services for the reconstruction of 18th to 22nd between Avenue S and the Avenue R canal. |
