The City currently operates eight (8) versions of Time Q Plus for timekeeping/payroll. For those employees not part of one of the eight versions, a paper process is utilized to maintain labor hours. Additionally, there is no scheduling software for timekeeping or work scheduling within the eight versions.
Kronos is a nationally recognized software known for addressing three key challenges: the ability to control labor costs; minimize compliance risk; and improve workforce productivity. Typical labor cost savings include payroll error, leave inflation, overtime, and absenteeism. Kronos provides the organization with tools and information to manage labor costs.
Kronos allows government agencies the ability to comply with federal and state labor law and labor agreements. Manual or semi-automated systems such as currently utilized by the City can be noted as inefficient and inaccurate, leave gaps in documentation, and do not catch errors that can increase the risk of violations and grievances. Kronos maintains complete, auditable records of all workforce transactions.
Kronos is the only workforce management software that contains scheduling to facility twenty-four operations. Kronos is on the State of Florida Contract #14-JLR-003. The pricing offered has been negotiated by the State of Florida. The State of Florida pricing is extended to City as part of the US Communities Agreement.
A city-wide Time & Attendance solution was identified as part of the IT Strategic Master Plan.
