Background/Summary: 

On October 13, 2013, Lydell Kerbo injured his lower back and right ankle when he stepped into an open water meter box located in the sidewalk at or around 3250 Avenue F, Riviera Beach, FL.  Mr. Kerbo underwent physical therapy, chiropractic core pain management, orthopedic treatment and surgery for his injuries.  It has also been recommended that he undergo a lumbar discectomy.   

 

The parties participated in mediation held on May 12, 2016, and thereafter agreed to settle the case for a total amount $60,000, subject to City Council approval. A memorandum explaining the case was sent to City Council on May 27, 2016.

 

It is recommended that settlement in the total amount of $60,000.00 be approved.
